Sam holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh. His interest in architecture was shaped by his hometown of Buffalo, New York, as well as four years spent living abroad after college. He is drawn to thoughtful architecture that engages the senses, responds to the specific cues and conditions of each place, and communicates its intentions clearly to those who experience it.

Prior to joining Jones Architecture, Sam worked at Waechter Architecture, Evident Architecture Office, Hacker Architects, and Polyphon Architecture & Design. His experience spans a wide range of project types and scales, from single-family homes to large multifamily residential developments.
