Project Description

Yonder is a mixed-use development that will introduce 231 residential units and retail spaces to an evolving commercial corridor in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood. The site offers sweeping views of downtown Seattle, Lake Union, Mount Rainier, and Puget Sound, with a south-facing courtyard that will provide refuge for residents and allow natural light to spill into the surrounding units.

Drawing inspiration from the area’s industrial heritage, Yonder showcases a brick exterior and gridded windows reminiscent of historic masonry warehouses. Contemporary secondary materials create breaks in the massing as they integrate with the classic brick facade. Brick pilasters curve around the site, creating and inviting tactile experience at the pedestrian level.

Breaking away from the urban landscape and strong masonry of the exterior, archway portals transition into a calm environment of natural materials and organic forms. Grasscloth wall coverings, warm wood paneling, Calacatta Viola marble surfaces, and abundant plantings shape a richly layered, biophilic environment. From the garden lounge, steel-framed French doors open onto the internal courtyard, merging indoor and outdoor spaces.

Corridors with antique-style runners evoke the nostalgia of travels past, guiding residents home. The gathering spaces showcase deep emerald tones, reflective chrome accents, and vintage-inspired overstuffed chairs.

Yonder is a sophisticated realm with interiors that bridge many aesthetics and eras through a cohesive neutral palate. The result is a space that feels impeccably crafted, curated, and timeless.
