Nestled between a major vehicular thoroughfare and a Caltrain stop, Saturday is an infill project that will take the place of an existing surface parking lot. A three-level, above-grade parking garage is integrated into the building to replace and add to the existing parking count. The garage is wrapped with townhouse units on the street-facing sides of the site and concealed with layered screens and planting on the interior property lines.

The siting celebrates a stand of large redwood trees by shifting and angling the form to open up views and access to this natural feature. Distinct volumes connected by “gasket” spaces break down the overall massing. Two separate amenity courtyards and an upper level amenity deck provide residents with options for outdoor gathering. Shifting cornice lines, a variety of materials and thoughtful detailing articulate the overall composition, creating a rich experience on all sides of the building.
