Nicholas Blatter DuBois, Designer

Although Nicholas can draw a straight line, he did not follow one to arrive at his career in architecture. Hailing from a family of Philadelphia-based music educators, his first calling was audio engineering. Cabinet-making was an early and persistent hobby; it turns out audio engineers need a lot of custom storage.

He made his way west in the late 1990’s and landed in Eugene, Oregon, where he transitioned from sound engineering to the Coast Guard Reserve and several years as a deputy sheriff with Lane County. In 2012, Nicholas pivoted toward architecture. He pursued his Associates in Architectural Design and Drafting at Portland Community College while building cabinets for Wolf and Son Cabinetmakers. At Jones Architecture, Nicholas keeps us organized and is a pinch hitter in document production. He lives in northeast Portland with his wife and their blended family of 4 children. He still occasionally records music made by friends.
