Kathy Johnson, AIA, LEED AP, Architect

Kathy came to Jones Architecture with 17+ years of experience in the profession. She brings a careful, thoughtful, and thorough approach to her work at Jones Architecture. Her diligence has been instrumental in parsing the complexities of renovation projects, untangling red tape, and navigating regulatory agency processes.

Kathy possesses a variety of project experience. She has worked on the renovation of commercial and residential buildings, including national historic landmarks. Her portfolio includes educational facilities, from K-12 to universities. She has also lent her skills to renovation work at the Portland International Airport, and other publicly funded projects.

Before receiving her Masters of Architecture from University of Virginia, Kathy worked as a barista, an intern at Portland’s Bureau of Planning, and a crisis intervention worker – all jobs which she feels prepared her in some way or another for a career in architecture.  She received a Bachelor of Art and Art History from Reed College.

Outside of work, Kathy spends time renovating her 1904 foursquare home and having outdoor adventures.
