Project Description

Olympia-Place-Amherst

Olympia Place is privately developed student housing near the University of Massachusetts at Amherst’s campus. The building’s design uses gabled roofs to create a form that is at once modern and befitting of its collegiate environment. The design concept was to create narrow fingers radiating from a central core, reducing the scale of an otherwise tall building for its context.

The development includes 73 units ranging in size from studios to 4 bedrooms. The units feature windows on three sides and sleek, contemporary finishes. Common areas include study spaces, breakout rooms, a movie house, fitness area, coffee bar, pool, and a landscaped courtyard.

Holst Architecture was the Design Architect and DiMella Shaffer was the Architect of Record. Alan Jones was the Project Manager for Holst Architecture.
